Limitless like sky

Swimming
Frantically
Trying to stay the course
Roaring waters
Have a plan
a set path, in store

flapping hands
flailing legs
keep me afloat
there are no oars
no sail
no boat

onwards
towards the fall
to the eventual end
avoiding a boulder
barely navigating
the gruesome bend

you may survive
but finally
you will fall
no matter
what you try
a fate you can’t stall

that’s if
you keep swimming
trying to stay afloat
screaming for help
keeping a lookout
for the saviour boat

but, what if
you take a leap
flap your wings and fly
no longer wet
soaring up
towards the sky

then
if you look down
you see it all…
the bends
the spec of a boulder
and the fall

now they are beautiful
harmless
not scary
I am gliding
in the winds,
in bliss
and not weary

the fall
seemed a
resigned fate
only when I was
swiming in the river
in spate

River is
no longer my fate
now that I have taken the flight
soaring higher
boundless,
limitless like sky

A new eye, that can see a song

I need a new eye
an inverted one Perhaps
to see
what I see not

I need a new eye
an unveiled one perhaps
to see
Beyond the taught

I need the eye
That sees everything
I need an eye
That needs no thought

Then I will close my eyes
And I see it clear
With none of the colours
And without a fear

Then I will open it wide
And see beyond
With none of the forms
Just that happy song

Roshni ka Dayara “Boundaries of Light”

Shadow on my wall
मेरी हस्ती का है
रोशनी का दायरा
रोशनी से लिपटा
अंदर, साये से भरा

रोका है
मैंने रोशनी को
नादान,
उसके सामने खड़ा

तिनका
उस रोशनी में
रोक कर समझूँ
अपने को बड़ा

ना हूँ मैं
तो हो सिर्फ़ रोशनी
पहचान जाऊँ जब
अपनी असल कहानी

नयी सुबह की भोर में
दायरा सिकुड़ जाएगा
बस रोशनी होगी
साया पिघल जाएगा
If there was no me,
will there be a shadow?
Would I lose my shadow
or will I create light?
