ऊँचायीयों से डर लगता है

गिरने का खौफ है

उड़ने का हुनर, सीखा नहीं

गिरने का शोक है

क्या फ़रक है

कौनसा सही

एक उभरता है

एक ढलता है

दोनों सिरों में

डोर तो एक है

एक पाने में जुटा है

एक खोने में खुश है

My heart needs a bath

I need a bath
Soap and froth
Spray of water
A scrub and wash

Body weary
Full of grime
Heart laden
With hate and crime

Some I like
Others I hate
Cage of destiny
Bind of fate

Happy moments
Brings a smile
Sad ones follow
After a short while

Full of anguish
String of regrets
Missed opportunities
And some lost bets

I carry the burden
Memories from the start
Furrows on the forehead
Worries in the heart

In the holy,
One dip I yearn
to unshackle the web
Many things to unlearn

I run the water
Bring up the froth
Scrub clean the weary skin
Emerge free, pure at heart

कुचले हुए घास के पत्ते (trampled grass blades)

घास के पत्तों को

कुचले जाने की आदत है

मेरी खवाइशों की भी कुछ

कुछ ऐसी ही आदत है

औस की बूँदों ने

हर बार सम्भाला है

ख़्वाहिशों की मौत को

कई बार टाला है

ज़मीन से जुड़ा हूँ

मैंने कहाँ जाना है

कुचलते कदम गुज़ार जाएँगे

मेरा तो यहीं ठिकाना है

किसकी जुस्तजू है

किसकी आरज़ू है

यहाँ क्या ख़त्म है

कहाँ कुछ शुरू है
