Creature of the sea

I am a creature 
of the sea
Dwelling in the ocean
Filled with salty tears
of sorrow and grief

I rise to the surface
For a quick long breath 
of the skimming winds
Laden with smiles
of joy and happiness

Long enough
I stay
Soaking in happiness 
Only to dive deeper
Into depth of despair

And the cycle 
goes on endlessly 
of short bouts of happiness
And then the unending 
expanse of sorrow

Till I find happiness
In the salty waters 
Dissolved and hidden
distilled out 
by my new found gills

Now I dwell
In the sea 
And in the winds above
Free of despair
Equally in bliss
