A year
Comes to an end
Another auspicious round
Culminates into a new

Around the fiery nourisher
Riding safely
On the gracious lap
Of the Maternal blue

Among the many stars
In the vast space unconfined
A speck
in the grand cosmos

Yet carrying
a whole world Within
Of hope and fear
Of gain and loss

Gloating on a triumph
Fretting on a setback
Worrying for an expectation
to happily live ever after

Celebrating a finite moment
On a strip of time
Unending and infinite
Stretching before and after

For now
in this moment
we embark
on a journey new

Of hope
and cheer
It’s another year
And it’s Brand new
