I have been trying to reach
and grasp the future
Shining and enticing
Steps hurrying in anticipation
Just when it’s within grasp
Blinded by the glow
Eyes gleaming with glee
Just then
when it was going to be ‘Now’
A pat on my shoulder
Made me turn back and see
It was none other
than the nosy ‘Past’
Which spoiled the ‘Now’
