The eye
Sees it all clear
Yet not
Pupil
Dilating full
To see
Only
the covering
Vain Veil
When I see this painting by Alma Thomas, The eclipse, I see the eyes that’s veiled with layers of falsehood. It only sees the vain world.
Wrote a Musette. Maybe it would resonate with you

A lovely poem

Nice work. Evokes a reference to the mind’s eye for me, where we really do our seeing.

True. The mind’s eye. The creation of fantasy 👍🏻

I love your poem inspired by the painting. I see circles, eyes, everywhere, in everything. Patterns, repeating. That Vain Veil gets in the way of connecting with that unity.

brilliant take. The vain veil indeed. I don’t even think it’s real
