What should I wear
To hide myself
Isn’t the skin enough?
It keeps me wrapped up
Encased
Entrapped
What should I wear
to save myself
Isn’t this tough hide enough?
It keeps me protected
Armoured
Cocooned
What should I wear
to be accepted
Isn’t this colour correct?
It keeps me camouflaged
Uniform
Blended
What should I say
To be heard
Isn’t the scream loud?
It keeps me in tune
Silent
Muffled
Yet the glimmer escapes
a glimpse of what can be
Isn’t that what can’t be hidden?
It keeps me hopeful
Praying
Waiting

Hey thanks. Although never thought of making Parallel Structures when I was writing. It was just emotions

One of the many gifts writing poetry offers – allowing emotions to flow. The results are freeing and often surprising. ✨
