Into the bright sun

The image is from Agung Pandit Wiguna at Pexels.com

In their shadows
She stayed
screened and protected

They meant well
Always bearing the scorch
Shielding the sun

But little did they know
She never bloomed
She was missing the sunshine

Today she stepped out
Into the bright sun
her upturned face turning pink
