I won’t exactly agree, i would rather go with
“a honest student ” , it may not be always true that a student gets successful cause of teacher, but what makes a teacher a good teacher is a honest student

The essential attribute of a student is learning
So parameters of success would be the same. Teacher plays a huge role in it.
